We are all about women empowerment at Imperfect Concepts and we know how seeing sales on the dashboard can uplift your spirit. There are several small business owners that are on our radar right now. Each one of these would be a perfect ‘just because’ gift for friends, family, or even yourself.
I know it’s pretty unbelievable, but I’m on vacation right now! Being the busy bee that I am, our blog posts have already been scheduled out so I wont skip a beat! I’m a small business owner, so that means I am pretty darn good at scheduling my life so that everything runs smoothly.
However, I am not that great at actually treating myself. Sometimes, I even treat others before myself. Now that I’m working with a life coach again, making more time for me is something that we are working on.
First, I want to put the disclaimer on the Small Town USA features: Everyone has their own opinion on the size of a small town. Even Google or Webster have different definitions. A small town can be 5 people, 500 people, 5000 people, or 500,000 people. No one is going to agree on the exact number. For the sake of these posts, I am using my definition of a small town. The luxuries that most Americans have are not really in these towns. In our first of the series, I mentioned to a commentator that Starbucks didn’t come to Killeen until 2006. Most “major cities” have always had a Starbucks.
Hi guys, Brittanie here, showing you how to make a healthy lunch. This lunch is super simple to make and takes 10 minutes, you could even make it the night before and store it in the fridge until the next morning. This week, I made a grilled chicken wrap with carrots and celery on the side. Keep in mind, this lunch is completely customizable and you are free to swap out veggies for fruit, or your favorite veggies to eat.
Here I show peanut butter and ranch as dipping sauces, but for a much healthier choice you can swap them out for hummus. It’s yummy and you can eat it with anything, pita chips, pretzels, veggies, even as a spread in the chicken wrap.
What do you eat for lunch? Are you easy-lunch-wrap-people like we are?
Okay, I will be honest. I was completely nervous about how my recap post would come out. There were a million preconceived notions on how the conference would be, and how I would feel when I walked away from it on Sunday night. All the worries disappeared once I arrived. I am overwhelmed (in a good way) with knowledge and new friendships. To explain the comfortable atmosphere well enough, let me just say that we even had a moment of discussing Justin Timberlake’s style through the years!
This past weekend, I had the pleasure of being a speaker for Texas Style Council conference in Austin, Texas. When TXSC had their event during SxSW Indiana, I decided to lead a workshop in knowing that TXSC sessions would be broken down to feel more school oriented. My best friend and fellow small business owner Rocquelle made the connections for me. The workshop was on Kick Starting Your Ecommcere Site, which I have parent consultation and ebooks that I personally offer on the subject.
I want to share several behind the scene photos from the Imperfect Concepts Boutique Summer 2013 shoot. It was so much fun working with everyone. The shoot was a positive space filled with people that want to help me fulfill my vision. This post is going to be PHOTO heavy, but hopefully the beauty will inspire you.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and everyone needs a little love. Spread the love by checking out these small businesses and shopping their store for your Valentine’s gift for a loved one or even a gift for yourself. I personally own a Love print already, but I think I need some Whipped Body Goods (hopefully those will be coming home very soon).
