I have discussed my consulting company, ICB Consults, numerous times on here. In addition, on social media I am pretty transparent about where a majority of my business revenue comes from; the digital products I create. A few of the big things people are writing about are, how they made X amount of money in 90 days or how they make six figures. After reading, your lead to a blog post about how someone “hired a consultant or joined a membership program that changed their life”. No real insight. I have been reeled in by those several times with their bait and switch post. It intrigues me to learn how people make a living. However, today I want to really give you some insight.
For the last two years, I have focused my efforts of becoming a digital content creator. My time is spent thinking of ideas, flushing out multiple streams for products, getting them designed, and selling them to my audience. With the creation of digital products, a new level of passive income was fueled for my business to thrive on, while I worked on other areas.
Being able to have the freedom to pursue other avenues and still know money is being made in my sleep is a great thing. Everyone should have the chance to grow their digital sales to increase their passive income.
Being a content creator in a digital world is really fun and exciting. There is always something to create, design, or implement, in order to, help other people achieve their dreams. I love helping people who are starting business and they need help with comprehending the basics.
Reaching those people is something else. One thing I noticed is, there is a multitude of ways to sell your products to your current and future audience. For instance, digital products can be purchased on ICB Consults‘ main website, Etsy, and Gumroad.
Now that I am focused on content creating and running a consulting firm, I’m constantly receiving an abundance of questions. One specifically is, how can a service business curate a constant stream of new products without giving out trade secrets or diluting their brand. One thing I don’t really believe in is trade secrets. You can either google your answer or you learn from getting skin in the game. I understand being protective of contacts that took you years to cultivate and nurture.
Some time ago in December, I shared a brief overview on Instagram, on my creative process of establishing digital products for ICB Consults. To my surprise, more people wanted to know my exact process to creating, designing, and launching products. My creative process is based on a routine believe it or not.
