If you have wanted to increase your small business’ capacity to earn more this week, month, quarter or until the end of the year these five tips are wanted you need. The insight I am providing is based on knowledge I have personally used, and wish was around when I launched my first company in 2009. A couple of years ago, I cracked the code to bring in $10,000 a month in digital sales. This was a game changer for my business mainly because I had to learn & do things I never did. However, before that, I remember the amount of money wasted. Thank you, Jesus, for deliverance.
First, let me say this article is not just for consumers of small businesses, but the invidiuals who operate companies too. We can all learn how to help a company expand their reach in order to grow in a global marketplace. Starting a small business is a plethora of work that most people will never realize. Even when running a company you never actually understand the valleys or mountains you climb until they appear before you. As a supporter of small business, you can lend a hand to the owner by doing one of these things.
Yes, I am a serious kick to help small business owners see the importance of growing their local brand. Too many times I hear how can I achieve such big feats with no accolades to back it up. Everyone wants to scale their business globally but so many people are missing the goldmine of growing their business locally.
One thing I notice so many business owners focused on is expansion. They want to be household names before they even make a dollar. They have their eyes set on getting the call from Oprah, feature on CNN or press in Vogue. They have yet to birth a vision. Take a dream or vision into adulthood not experiencing the learning curve of being an infant in their industry.
Almost three years ago, I was making in the mid five figures running my online resale boutique and with the start my consulting company. Truthfully, I was doing pretty well without doing major marketing or advertising. Now, was I happy about my income level? No, not really. Honestly, who wants to stay at the same low financial level. We all want to grow and stretch our business to the next level. My goal is to have a million dollar company by the age of 31. This is the same age Bill Gates became a millionaire. Let me break down how I grew my company to a six figure business.
Last year was an amazing year for Imperfect Concepts. As many of you know, I am a full-time business consultant for my company, ICB Consults. It’s super fun working with amazing women one on one building their dreams, as well as, I love creating digital products. However, in 2014 I wrestled with the direction in which this site was going to go. No, this isn’t a farewell blog post. Far from that. I wanted the site to grow into this huge platform like Mashable or something of that nature. I thought that was the direction I needed to go, to be successful in the content creation realm. So I removed “me” from the blog per say. Sought out contributors, but that didn’t work.
Maybe you’ve seen or read this quote by Red Adair before, “If you think it’s expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur.” It reigns true when launching a business. Too many times we try to skimp in certain areas when launching our businesses. This is something you do not want to do. Investing the first time is better than spending double the second time around. No dollars wasted should be your company motto.
Results happen when you stop making priorities an option. If your business is important to you, you will make it a priority, not an option. Investing in your small business is extremely important if you want it to grow. Just wishing and hoping will not create the results you want you have to put in the effort. You need to make daily goals and on top of making them you need to strive towards completing them.
