Late this summer I was introduced to Sonja of Brick and Mortar Maven by a former client who has a local boutique. One of my favorite things to tell people is that you need to get your hands dirty when starting a business, but most importantly hire people who can help you avoid the hiccups that might come along the way. Sonja is located right outside of Nashville, TN but has helped so many turn their dreams into reality.
Is it possible to hit a reset button and start all over? There is no real reset button, but you can choose to make a fresh start for your life at any time. There is no better time than the first of the new calendar year. This year is going to be different for you and I because of the daily choices we make to strive for greatness in various areas. One area that I am striving to reset is my relationship with God. He is the sources that allow me to achieve all those goals I am sharing below. Even in my storm He mercies and grace have been consistent daily, but I have failed numerous times. This morning, I asked for a fresh start with him. To start our relationship over so I can truly be obedient in life. Today, I want to publicly share my goals for this year with you.
When the aha moment happened for this exact post, the working title was something like “Is it possible to have an attitude of gratitude when 2017 has been kinda shitty.” Seriously, this is what I wanted to title the piece but I felt it was not SEO friendly, and need to work on the wording, lol. If you have been a long time reader of the blog then you know 2017, was not something I planned for at all on any level. At the end of 2016, I was diligently working to secure partnerships and work with clients for this year, but that completely went out the window. Truth be told, I did not want to write the traditional what I am a grateful post that happens on this day. I wanted to be completely honest, in a world full of smoke and mirrors of what is like to muster the strength each day to be thankful.
Yes, we all know if we simplify our lives it will become less complicated, but how many of us actually take the steps to do that. Continuing on sharing all aspects of my life I want to share how I took the steps to dangle all the cords in my life so to speak and left my badge of complicated behind to focus on simple, happy, and light.

Truth be told a plethora small business owners have a smaller budget when it comes to advertising, marketing, products, production, and much more. However, this season I want you to collaborate with other small business owners, influencers, creatives, and more this holiday season to have a great impact. When you’re united with others you’re a stronger force to build your dreams and go further.

As I wrote in July in my “The First Half Of 2017 Tested Me, But Grew Me In The Perfect Way” blog finances have been up and down for 2017. I am thankful a majority of 2017, I lived off of my savings for day to day needs. Well, as the end year was ending I knew my savings was at zero and I wouldn’t make it. So, I had to humble myself and take a job to help pay the bills. Sallie Mae doesn’t care about my pride, they want their $500 a month for my student’s loans.
Several years ago, when I had an online store I decided to put my PR degree to good use by pitching bloggers to cover my boutique. There was a list of over 50 bloggers across the United States that I reached out to for an interview. Jessica of DSR Apparel was one of those bloggers, and since then she has turned into one of my closest friends. She is brilliant beyond a shadow of a doubt, her gif text game is poppin, and she honestly has a passion for what she is doing.
Today, I would like you to meet Naisha of Brownstone Closets based in South NJ. As I write this introduction I am smiling mainly because over the last three years of working with Naisha I have seen her dream flourish on her own terms. She has committed to growing her dreams on her terms which is an amazing thing to watch.
